While the summer months usually just give us baseball, Thursday's slate offers us a little bit of everything. "Field of Dreams" is easily my favorite sports movie and in my top five of movies of any genre. It's a movie that I can mute and easily recite every single line. There's just so many quotable ones. The nostalgia of this incredible film, combined with the modern game, will make it all a phenomenal thing to see on Thursday and I absolutely can't wait.
I'll get off my soapbox now and get to the picks. Spoiler alert: I've got some ways to attack the Field of Dreams Game.

Yankees vs. White Sox, 7 p.m. | TV: FOX
The Pick: White Sox (-157) -- If you're going to watch this incredible spectacle of a game, you may as well have a horse in the race. There's no doubt that the White Sox need to be where you are putting your money when it comes to the result of this one.
The White Sox are having a sensational year in which they have remained one of the top teams in the majors. Chicago is coming off a 1-0 loss at the hands of the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, but I definitely believe that result is an anomaly. The White Sox possess one of the most dangerous lineups and, to make matters worse for the rest of the American League, Chicago recently got Luis Robert back in the lineup.
In addition, the White Sox have been surging with wins in four of their last five games. Don't overthink this one and roll with the White Sox in the corn fields.

⚾ Yankees vs. White Sox
The Pick: Andrew Heaney Under 6.5 strikeouts (+100) -- Let's take a little double dip in the Field of Dreams Game. As I mentioned earlier, the White Sox have an absolute juggernaut of a lineup that has given many teams fits. This is a group that has a collective .249 batting average, which is the eighth-best in baseball.
Meanwhile, left-hander Andrew Heaney hasn't exactly been a beacon of consistency throughout the 2021 season. Heaney has registered under this 6.5-strikeout number in five of his last nine starts. In addition, his first two starts with the Yankees haven't exactly been stellar, as he's surrendered four runs apiece in each of those two starts. Heaney also has a 5.45 ERA on the season, so the deck isn't stacked in his favor.
You're getting some nice juice at +100 odds, so it's definitely worth sprinkling a little bit of your bankroll on Heaney floundering once again.
⚾ Blue Jays vs. Angels, 7:10 p.m. | TV: MLB.TV
The Pick: Under 8.5 runs (-110) -- We're getting a high-profile pitching matchup in one of the more exciting games on Thursday's MLB slate. Shohei Ohtani has been the apple of the eye of baseball fans, given his ability to launch home run after home run this season. However, Ohtani has been just as impressive on the mound with a 6-1 record and 2.93 ERA. In his last nine starts, Ohtani has surrendered more than two runs just once.
The Blue Jays made a splash at the trade deadline when they acquired former Minnesota Twins ace Jose Berrios. Since arriving in Toronto, Berrios has given up just one run in two starts and has appeared to be everything that the Blue Jays hoped they would be.
This is basically going to be a battle of the bullpens with two stud starting pitchers on the mound. I truly expect both pitchers to give us six or seven innings minimum, and that should keep the run total fairly low. Play the under in this one.
