Bolstered by the supply of the new COVID-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, more than 23,000 vaccine doses will be split between Montgomery County's two central hub sites and nearly three dozen additional providers during the week of March 8 in the county's largest weekly first-dose vaccine allocation yet.
Allotments for the two hub providers are identical to last week's with 2,500 doses reserved for the Lone Star Family Health Center's Conroe distribution site and nearly 8,200 reserved for CHI St. Luke's—The Woodlands Hospital. More information on vaccinations at the two locations is available by phone and online; St. Luke's details may be found on its vaccine website or by calling 936-202-2060, and Lone Star's details may be found on its website or by calling 936-523-5230.

The more than 30 additional providers set to receive vaccine doses this week—the 13th week of vaccine distribution in Texas—is the most the state has identified for a single weekly allocation in the county so far. The Texas Department of State Health Services said in a statement that the state's total allocations surpassed 1 million first doses for the first time this week thanks in part to nearly 250,000 doses of the third federally authorized COVID-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson arriving for the first time.

Only three county providers, including the public health district, Script Expert Pharmacy and Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, will not receive the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine during the week of March 8. The 32 remaining providers are each set to receive between 100 and 1,000 doses of that new vaccine.

Montgomery County's vaccine waitlist remains open online, and registration may be completed via the county's webpage or by calling its COVID-19 call center at 936-523-3916 for assistance.

Including both state and federal allocations, a total of 168,220 first and second COVID-19 vaccine doses have now been reserved for Montgomery County hub sites, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, doctor's offices and other health care facilities through the first 13 weeks of distribution, according to DSHS.

Nearly 69% of the county's more than 165,000 allocated vaccines have been administered as of March 8, including more than 84% of second doses. More than 70,100 people in the county have received a first vaccine dose, and an estimated 43,877 people are now fully vaccinated, according to the DSHS.
