Isabella County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a man for assault and violating a protective order following an argument last week in Union Township, during which the man is also accused of showing off a firearm in his waistband.
The man’s 17-year-old girlfriend, a 16-year-old girl, a 41-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were driving near an apartment on Collegiate Way on Aug. 9 when the 17 year old saw the man and threw his shirt out of the car window.
They stopped in the apartment complex parking lot and the man and another person quickly moved next to the car, where an argument broke out between all of them.
One of the three women was struck in the throat and dragged out of the car, said Sheriff Michael Main in an email. Then the man lifted his shirt to reveal a gun in his waistband.
The two men fled, and one was later arrested. The other eluded a police search that included use of a K-9 unit, Main said.
