Law schools don’t require a particular major, which is why your liberal arts background and the skills you hone at St. Lawrence will set you up for success. We encourage you to take foundational courses in the humanities, sciences, social sciences, and the arts while pursuing degree programs in economics, government, and history.
We offer a number of courses and majors that will prepare you for the demands of studying law such as expository writing, sustained research, and the analysis of arguments. Courses in reasoning and symbolic logic are also helpful in preparing for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
Our Academic Advising and Center for Career Excellence teams can share more information about the LSAT and our Pre-Law Advising Committee, which provides briefings periodically for students at all levels of preparation.
The St. Lawrence University-Cornell Law School Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is awarded to one St. Lawrence student per year who is accepted to and enrolls in Cornell Law School.
