Area students earn degrees from Capital University 

BEXLEY - Capital University conferred degrees on nearly 600 graduates during the 2019-2020 year. The 170th Commencement Ceremony was postponed due to restrictions on large gatherings put in place because of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The area graduates are: Nathan Sperling of Marion; Thomas Green of Marion; Ashley Cano of Upper Sandusky; Alison Caudill of Nevada; Wyatt Pertuset of Richwood; and Chloe Young of Bucyrus.

Two area students graduate from Heidelberg University

TIFFIN -  Two area students are members of the graduating Class of 2020 at Heidelberg University. They are Brandi Smith of Marion, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Media and English, and Olivia Long of Mt. Gilead, who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Both graduated cum caude.

A total of 206 undergraduate students received bachelor's degrees and 50 graduate students received degrees in counseling, education, business administration music education. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Heidelberg canceled its formal commencement ceremony, scheduled for May 17, and plans to host an in-person commencement ceremony on Aug. 29.

Heidelberg University has also announced the names of 523 students named to the spring semester dean's list. Included on the list are the following Marion area students: Kaitlyn Hage, sophomore, Education; Tiffany Holycross, junior, Education; Ainsley Jones, sophomore, Criminology; Kayla McCoy, junior, Biochemistry; Taylor Myers, freshman, Biology; and Katelyn Wansik, junior, Biology and Criminology.

Steven Neuenschwander named to Trine University Dean's List

ANGOLA, IN - Steven Neuenschwander of Marion, a Trine University student, earned Dean's List recognition for the Spring 2020 term. Neuenschwander is majoring in Exercise Science-Pre Phys Therapy 3+3.

To earn Dean's List honors, students at Trine's main campus and Fort Wayne Center for Health Sciences must complete a minimum of 15 hours and have a grade point average of 3.500-3.749.
