Major BART delay shuts down service between Pittsburg, Antioch - East Bay Times

datangep.blogspot.com

BART service shut down in the eastern part of Contra Costa County for the second time in a week early Monday, according to BART officials.

The agency sent out an alert at 7:09 a.m. that service had stopped between the Antioch and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations. They later said a signaling problem prevented trains from moving through a section of the track, BART spokesman Jim Allison said via email.

The delay began around 6:50 a.m. BART fixed the problem by 8:10 a.m., but residual delays remained for much of the morning.

Tri Delta Transit provided bus service between the stations to aid commuters during the delay.

Service on the same line was delayed at least 20 minutes on May 11 after a train stalled on the tracks around 9:30 a.m. Full service that day wasn’t resumed until around noon.
