SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Fight between cousins ends in knockout - The Pioneer

MECOSTA COUNTY — The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls.

All calls may not be reported.

Thursday, Sept. 23

• A property damage crash was reported near 19 Mile Road in Green Township. A vehicle hydroplaned into the ditch.

• A private property damage crash was reported in the 12000 block of McKinley Road in Colfax Township. A driver was backing a semi truck and trailer up to the loading dock of Dollar General and backed into an employee’s vehicle in the parking lot.

• A car vs. deer crash was reported near 13 Mile Road and 75th Avenue near Martiny Township. No injuries were reported.

• Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of Scott Street in Aetna Township. Several tenants advising that over the past few weeks unknown subjects were knocking on apartment doors late hours and early morning.

• A Big Rapids High student was issued a ticket for minor in possession of a vape.

• A property damage crash was reported near Perry Street and 215 Avenue in Big Rapids Township. A driver was unable to stop in the rain and rear-ended another driver who was stopped waiting at the red light. The at-fault driver cited. No injuries No Tow.

• A PPO violation was reported in the 12000 block of 3 Mile Road in Deerfield Township. The protected party advised that the offender parked in front of a tree on her property and was watching the residence.

• Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of West Thomas Street in Morton Township. UPS dropped off a package a couple days prior at a vacant house.

• A missing person was reported in the 10000 block of Riverview Drive in Mecosta Township. The caller wanted to report his 33-year-old sister missing. The caller said she has undiagnosed mental health issues and recently got into meth.

• A civil matter was reported in the 11000 block of Jefferson Road in Hinton Township. A man was trying to evict his homeless sister.

• A car vs. deer crash was reported near 185th Avenue and 11 Mile Road. No injuries were reported.

• An assault was reported in the 21000 block of Northland Drive in Green Township. Two male cousins were fighting and one got knocked out and was found laying in the parking lot unconscious. The man was taken to the emergency room by EMS.
