SANILAC COUNTY, MI – A 22-year-old Marlette man died after he became pinned between two trailers at a private Sanilac County business Saturday.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a call about 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 for a crash involving a semitractor and two trailers in the 5000 block of South Sandusky Road in the village of Peck.
An initial investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office has determined a Caro man was driving a semitractor-trailer in a parking lot at a private business when he attempted to back it up and attach it to a second trailer, according to a statement from the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
The 22-year-old man who worked at the business went to assist and ended up getting pinned between the two trailers and the equipment used to connect them, police said.
The man, whose name has not been released, was transported by Sanilac EMS to McKenzie Hospital in Sandusky where he was later pronounced dead.
No additional information was immediately available. The incident remained under investigation.
The Elk Township Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
