FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) - Police say they are working on tracking down key players in two local street gangs following a “rash of violence” in The Fort.
The Fort Wayne Police Department Gang and Violent Crimes Unit (GVCU) says it is working to minimize the violence between the groups and has arrested three teens and two adults associated with the gangs early Tuesday morning. They also confiscated seven firearms during the investigation.
22-year-old Aristotle King and 18-year-old Marcus Martin Jr. were the two adults arrested, with charges ranging from criminal recklessness, obstruction of justice, and fleeing law enforcement.
Officials say they hope the arrests will lead to a reduction in violence between the two groups, and ask anyone with information to contact the GVCU at 260-427-5575 or GVCU@cityoffortwayne.org, Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867, or use the free anonymous P3 Tips app.
