Train derailed at Bryn Mawr; Red Line service suspended between Howard and Belmont stops - Chicago Tribune

datangep.blogspot.com

Red Line train service between the Howard and Belmont stops was temporarily suspended Monday night because of a “minor derailment” near the Bryn Mawr stop, according a Chicago Transit Authority spokesman.

Trains were only operating between the 95th Street and Belmont stops as of 6:15 p.m. Monday because a wheel on a Purple Line car was off the track, an official said. People were being asked to consider alternative transportation, and shuttle buses were available from the Howard to Belmont stops, according to CTA alerts.

No injuries were reported and crews are working to restore the system, according to the CTA spokesman.

For updated travel information, check the CTA’s website.
