Oak Park police are investigating six reported catalytic converter thefts from cars parked throughout the village between June 3 and 10.

The following items were taken from Oak Park Police Department reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Aggravated assault

A man wearing a white hat, white shirt and black shorts approached a car in the 100 block of Madison Street, displayed a knife and attempted to strike the driver through the car’s passenger side window at 10:55 a.m. June 2.

Retail theft

Antoine Boswell, 28, of the 400 block of North St. Louis Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft and battery at 8:10 p.m. June 9 following an incident at Walgreens, 6412 Roosevelt Road.

A woman wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black face mask stole $75 worth of clothing items from CarefulPeach Boutique, 1024 North Blvd., at 10:07 a.m. June 7.

Attempted burglary

Someone removed the bathroom window screen of a home in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue at 2:14 a.m. June 7. Nothing was reported stolen.

Burglary

A car was ransacked in the 0-100 block of Fillmore Street between 9 p.m. June 8 and 4:30 a.m. June 9. Nothing was reported stolen.

A pair of gloves and cash valued at $70 were stolen from the glove box of an unlocked car parked in the 900 block of Lake Street between 10 am. June 6 and 7:30 p.m. June 8.

A garage was ransacked in the 1100 block of Lyman Avenue between 9:30 p.m. June 6 and 6:58 a.m. June 7. Nothing was reported stolen.

Miscellaneous papers were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 900 block of Lake Street between 12:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. June 6.

A MacBook laptop computer and wallet valued at $820 were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 1100 block of South Boulevard between 9:25 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. June 6.

Attempted theft

A man wearing dark clothing was seen attempting to steal the catalytic converter from a car parked in the 1000 block of North East Avenue at 4:44 a.m. June 7. The man fled the scene when confronted.

Theft

A man with long dreadlocks and wearing a black colored sweatshirt stole a car with its keys left inside from GoLo gas station, 330 Chicago Ave., between 3:15 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. June 10. The car was recovered at 11:06 p.m. in the 1900 block of Gray Street in Evanston with damage to the rear passenger side door.

The catalytic converter, valued at $500, was stolen from a car parked in the 500 block of North Marion Street at 2:47 a.m. June 10.

The catalytic converter, valued at $2,000, was stolen from a car parked in the 400 block of North Elmwood Avenue between 1:21 p.m. June 6 and 6:13 p.m. June 8.

The catalytic converter, valued at $200, was stolen from a car parked in the 200 block of South Boulevard between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 7.

A car valued at $7,500 was stolen from the 700 block of South Maple Avenue between 11 p.m. June 6 and 1:16 a.m. June 7.

Two umbrellas and a lamp valued at $90 were stolen from the hallway of an apartment building in the 900 block of North Boulevard between 1:47 p.m. June 1 and 3 p.m. June 6.

A bike valued at $300 was stolen from the rear yard of a home in the 500 block of Harrison Street between 4:30 p.m. and 8:52 p.m. June 5.

A wagon valued at $75 was stolen from the front of a home in the 600 block of Clarence Avenue between 10:30 p.m. June 4 and 8 a.m. June 5.

A pride flag was stolen from the flag pole on a home in the 200 block of South Ridgeland Avenue at 4:35 a.m. June 5. Estimated loss is $50.

The catalytic converter, valued at $1,000, was stolen from a car parked in the 700 block of North Harvey Avenue between 7:50 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 4.

The catalytic converter, valued at $1,000, was stolen from a car parked in the 1100 block of North Grove Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. June 4.

The catalytic converter, valued at $3,000, was stolen from a car parked in the 200 block of Randolph Street between 5:47 a.m. and 5:48 a.m. June 3.

A package containing a Graco Pack N Play valued at $75 was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 1000 block of Linden Avenue at 6:28 p.m. June 2.

A cellphone valued at $600 was stolen from a picnic table in the 900 block of North Ridgeland Avenue at 6 p.m. June 2.

A package containing a window air conditioning unit valued at $369 was stolen from the lobby of an apartment building in the 0-100 block of Division Street between 4:23 p.m. and 5 p.m. May 30.

Criminal damage

The rear driver’s side tire was punctured on a car parked in the 1000 block of North Boulevard between 5 p.m. June 6 and 6:45 a.m. June 7. Damages were estimated at $100.

The front passenger door window was shattered on a car parked in the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard at 1:30 a.m. June 7. Damages were estimated at $150.

A pride flag valued at $25 was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 300 block of South Taylor Avenue between 11 p.m. June 4 and 7 a.m. June 5.

A pride flag valued at $13 was damaged in the 300 block of South Taylor Avenue at 4:48 a.m. June 5.

A man wearing a black face mask and white hooded sweatshirt damaged the outer window pane of a home in the 700 block of South Elmwood Avenue at 7:43 p.m. June 4. Damages were estimated at $200.

The front and rear windshields were shattered on a car parked in the 00-100 block of Iowa Street between 1:30 a.m. and 7:19 a.m. June 3.
