Fifteen miles of Highway 395 between Sonora Junction and Bridgeport is closed today.

Highway 395 between Bridgeport and Sonora Junction reopened around midnight Monday after the Mono County Sheriff’s Office conducted a homicide investigation.

Initial estimates were that the major highway linking Western Nevada with Southern California would reopen around 5 p.m., but a collision near Bridgeport Reservoir on Highway 182, which was the main detour delayed the reopening.

The collision was reported around 10:25 a.m. and involved a propane truck. Traffic was stopped aroud lunchtime in both directions so CareFlight could land.
