MADISON (WKOW) -- We're seeing a chance for storms every day this Memorial Day weekend.
But plenty of people took advantage of some nice weather during the day on Sunday, to get out on the water before storms return.
27 News caught up with some boaters who were heading out onto Lake Monona at the Olin Park boat launch.
They said being outside made it really feel like the start to summer, after all the time spent inside during the pandemic and recent rainy days.
"Couldn't be more excited. Been couped up for 8 weeks, so it'll be really good to get out on the water," said boater David Allen. "There's tons of room on the water, so people can stay far away and stuff."
The city of Madison says you can only buy daily or annual lake access permits online right now, because of the pandemic.
