While most of UW-Madison’s traditional in-person degree programs have switched to an online format, nontraditional students will have more fully-online degree options starting in the Fall 2021 semester through UW-Madison Online.
UW-Madison Online is an undergraduate degree program geared toward helping students who have earned an associates degree or who have some college credit earn a Bachelor’s degree.
The online university will offer four new fully-online degree programs to help nontraditional students earn undergraduate degrees in the fields of Consumer Behavior & Marketplace Studies, Human Resources, Management and Marketing.
“At a time when online education has been more important than ever, we’re leveraging technology and our top-tier faculty and programs to open up the university to more people who are seeking a degree that they can use to build a better future for themselves,” said UW–Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank in a press release.
Three of the degree programs, including the degrees in Management, Human Resources and Marketing will be provided by the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB).
“These new online business degrees respond to the dynamic forces of today’s digital economy,” WSB Dean Vallabh “Samba” Sambamurthy said in the release. “As the needs of industry continually evolve, the Wisconsin School of Business is committed to creating agile learning opportunities and extending access to business education.”
The fourth degree program, the Bachelor of Science degree in Consumer Behavior & Marketplace Studies, will be taught through the School of Human Ecology.
Tuition for the program is $575 per credit hour for all students, regardless of their state of residency, and financial aid is available.
According to the release, over the past five years, enrollment for the over 80 online-only programs has increased by over 77%.
To enroll in UW-Madison online degree programs, prospective students can apply online. The deadline for the Summer 2021 semester is April 1.
